I can remember my dad sitting us down to the kitchen table to listen to cassette tapes of Earl Nightingales’ “The Magic Word.” I didn’t understand very much of it at the time because I was so small but I did learn that our attitude toward something could make the difference whether you succeed or fail. I still have a copy of it today. He may not realize it but my dad laid the foundation for what I have done with my life and what I am about to do.
Born in Missouri, my parents both worked and growing up they always told me and my sister and brother we could do anything as long as we put our mind to it and truly believed we could do it.
Daddy used to remind us, “can’t couldn’t do anything.”
After high school my path led me to the broadcasting business. I decided I can do this. I started in radio in 1981 and moved around the country and “up and down the dial” for many years. Texas, California, Oklahoma, Missouri and since 1997 I have hosted a morning radio show in Miami. I wasn’t here but just over a year when my husband was tragically killed in a plane crash. It’s been a long healing road since then. The one thing I have always depended on was my family and close friends to help me through it. My sister, Marce is my best friend in the whole world. Since I was little I always wanted to be like her. We talk every single day. She is my motivator and my inspiration. My other “sister” Diana, was here with me for support during that very difficult time right after the accident too and she has been part of our family ever since. These two women are my pillars by which I could not stand.
After many years I decided to open my heart again. I decided I didn’t want to be alone for the rest of my life and I knew in my heart the love of my life was out there. He was. Howard and I married in 2008.
I remember the first time I read “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne. It was a taste of something I haven’t had since sitting around the kitchen table listening to motivational tapes with my family. I inhaled every word and then ran out and bought the audio book. I felt compelled to share this information with everyone I knew. I knew how it made me feel and I wanted everyone else to get that same feeling too. It’s no wonder Diana and Marce were so excited to share this with everyone. That’s where Wise SOTSS come in. Think of it as your kitchen table, we all have a seat and are about to fill our souls with heaping helpings of abundance, love, motivation and joy.
